I Changed My Voicemail and My Business Grew

A few years ago, I stopped checking my voicemail.

Not because I was lazy.

Because the enormous weight of being responsible for every aspect of my business was becoming too much to handle.

Clients could reach out anywhere, anytime.

Facebook Messenger.

Instagram DMs.

Text messages.

Email.

Website inquiry forms.

Voicemail.

Every notification.

Every message.

Every communication channel was pulling my attention away from the actual work.

The problem wasn't the voicemail.

The problem was the mental load.

The minutes add up.

The phone calls add up.

The interruptions add up.

The cumulative cost of tiny things takes over your day.

I decided... email only.

That's it.

That is the only way to contact me.

It felt risky.

I didn't want to upset someone.

I didn't want my clients to question why.

I didn't want to hear that it was crazy.

Turns out, communication became simpler.

Less time was spent checking messages.

Nothing slipped through the cracks.

Clients knew exactly where to find me.

And the result?

I had more energy to focus.

Business growth isn't always about adding another system, another platform, or another way to connect.

Sometimes growth is deciding what no longer belongs.

Sometimes growth is giving yourself permission to stop doing things because they're considered normal.

And sometimes it starts with something as small as a voicemail.
